31.12.08 Year 2008 is soon over. Thank you friends for being there, this has been an exciting year full of happy moments. Our very small team has gained some excellent results. Next year there will be new challenges for myself - it might be that I will have a little bit less time for the doggy business and showing. But hopefully we'll get some little ones in litterbox after a couple of years' break. Just a short look at the past year: The year started with style in Kajaani int show in early January, when Adam won the group shown this time by myself. Adam was shown in a few shows only, still gained several group wins and placements in tough competition. Even it wasn't a true "win", can be considered such, when he was placed 4th in huge champion class of 30 handsome champions in World Show in Stockholm. Main thanks for Adam's success go to Adam's talented co-owner Sanna Vartiainen. Right now he's having a break from show rings and time will tell if he will return.
In February I had another wonderful moment when my beloved Triscuit went all the way to Best In show 3 in Tallinn Int show. Triscuit aka KrisMyth Dream Performace is so far the last am.cocker of my very good friend Kristi Ahlquist after she gave up american cockers because of serious illness, and that is another reason why Triscuit is very important for me. Later in spring we gained our goal - she got the last cacib for her Int Ch title. Now she's retired from her second show career - the first being in America - and planning puppies. From my very limited breeding I got two new homebred champions in 2008. Buff male Serene Silver Bullet is Adam's son and red female Serene Sunrise Saga is Triscuit's daughter. Big thanks go to owners of Paavo and Saga for the excellent care of both. Saga has also started her career in other activities together with her young friend Emma. Way to go! Another daughter of Triscuit has got a big success in big rings. "Puttemor", also known as "Josephine" who has homes both in Denmark and in Czech, has gained several CACIBs, group placements and wins but best of all - she won BIS in a big show in Prague in November. That is just wonderful!! I wish I could've been there... Thank you ever so much Lone, Dana and Jan for taking such a wonderful care of my little Puttemor.
Two years ago, we exchanged puppies with Lone. She got Puttemor and I got Tilli, Pointbreak Spice Of Life. Tilli hasn't done so bad either this year. She has been shown mostly abroad. She has got several CACIBs, championships in Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Belarus... group placements and wins, too. Last but certainly not least she won Best In Show in the 30th anniversary show of Latvian spaniel club show in December. Tilli has been handled during the year by Lolita Tilga, Merja Koskela and Nelly Palonen - thank you girls for your excellent work!! - and of course by myself and her co-owner Jaana Lepikkomäki. But biggest thanks go to her co-owner Jaana for your work and enthusiasm! We hope she will continue her career next year in show rings and hopefully as a producer, too. In September Kaisu "Nyyti" Halme achieved with her Samba (S. Second Edition) something that needs to be noticed. They got a club mastership in tracking. I think american cockers should also be taken to field and need to be noticed for their skills in different areas. This is a fine example of pure show breeding but still a working cocker! Samba hasn't always been an easy partner to train, so Nyyti deserves a "hurrah" for her accomplishments in training her, not only in tracking but other activities as well. I wish everyone a happy new year and many happy and memorable moments fot next year!! |
